Walking and Enjoying Life Thanks to Dr. Woll
Back in Action Thanks to Dr. Wei
I can walk pain free after 3 years of severe pain
When I first started seeing Dr. Crary, I was already diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis in my talus bone. I could barely walk and preferred to hop on one foot to get around. I had already been to two other physicians one of which performed some surgery. Dr. Crary took bone from my knee and replaced it with the necrosis in my ankle.
Wow, I can walk pain free after 3 years of severe pain. Today I am walking and cycling long distances and am pain free.
Thank you for giving me my freedom again. It's been a long time since I was last there, and I would say that's a good thing!
Quality Care From Dr. Gramstad and Dr. Roberts
Thank you Dr. Ellis & staff!
Excellent Experience with Dr. Borus
I would highly recommend Dr. Roberts and his team to anyone.
My daughter Megan is a competitive athlete she is tenuous and driven. She was nationally rank in track, And loves all things sports . She tore her ACL and Meniscus the fall of her 8th grade year.
As a parent I was heartbroken for her because of her love of sports. We searched for the right doctor and finally I had several friends recommend us to Dr. Roberts. We met him and my daughter instantly connected with him. It was hard to trust someone with my little girl, but he just made it easy. He educated us on the injury and helped us through surgery and told us what to expect. I was thinking, I just don’t want her to have pain when she gets older, my daughter on the other hand just wanted to get back to competing. With help from Steve Rocereto she thrived, and even looked forward to seeing her Athletic Trainer. He is amazing and kind.
She got back on the court received All League Honorable mention in Volleyball, and second team All-conference in Basketball (even with missing the last 4 games of basketball). While playing basketball, she had fallen on the court, my heart dropped as she looked up at me. I knew it was bad, yes she tore her ACL on her other leg…. I called Dr. Roberts. Second surgery was done without a hitch the Hospital, Surgical team, Office personnel, Physical therapist, Athletic trainer are all top notch. I have absolutely have no complaints and for this mom that's a huge compliment. She is on the road to recovery and we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Dr. Roberts, Kyle, and Steve Rocereto! You made one of the most difficult times of our lives, so much easier, due to the wonderful care you provided. I would highly recommend Dr. Roberts and his team to anyone. Megan is looking forward to competing again and wants to be an Athletic Trainer one day.
Two Successful Total Knee Replacements
Thanks to these two gentlemen, I am able to walk again with no crutches and no cane. I am very happy. I walked with crutches for nearly 7 years. My right elbow can testify on the pain of that!

Outstanding job, Dr. Colville!
Get your self fixed and engage life!
Being sports minded, I wanted a physician who worked on athletes and my research led me to Dr. Roberts.
It's been four years and the recent check up showed the knee is still in great shape, after:
3 - Seattle to Portland Bike Rides
1 - 110 Mile back packing trip with the scouts
6750 Miles total biking
1 - 11 day expedition Into the Grand Canyon
Get your self fixed and engage life!

Thank you Dr. Borus. MY HERO.
Excellent work Dr. Southerland and Joel Phillips, PA!
Amazing work Dr. Woll and Rebound staff!
A major concern was that the last time I had seen Dr. Woll, he had estimated that ankle joint replacement surgery was still five years in the future. Thinking that it had only been three years since I’d heard Dr. Woll’s estimate, I concluded that amputation was my only viable option. When Dr. Woll saw me in clinic a few days after my call for an appointment, he smiled when he heard my request and told me he was very pleased with the newly FDA-approved STAR ankle prosthesis, and offered me a joint replacement surgery. It had indeed been five years since my last visit.
Ten days later, I was admitted to the hospital for surgery. At 11:00 AM the next morning, I was in a friend’s car, discharged home, in far less pain than I’d lived with for the past 27 years. Six weeks after the operation, I was back to work (on a knee scooter, for sure, but working). Seven weeks after surgery, I was off all pain medication.
I knew, when I requested surgery, that Dr. Woll was on orders with the US Army to return to Active Duty (for his fourth deployment overseas!). In his absence, Dr. Woll left me in the capable hands of Dr. Pierce and the Rebound staff, all of whom did a phenomenal job in my post-op care. With each and every visit to any of the Rebound offices, I was met and assisted by distinctively pleasant, skilled receptionists, patient services representatives, x-ray and cast technicians, medical assistants and medical providers.
By the time Dr. Woll returned from service in Afghanistan, I was walking without a limp, working full-time without mechanical aid or pain medication, riding my bike, driving…in short, living life to the hilt. To conclude that the operation and post-operative results have been life-changing would be an understatement. There are very few activities Dr. Woll told me to avoid (ex: racket sports), but I basically do anything and everything I want. My quality of life is, in a word, excellent.
Dr. Le gave me my life back
You have given me my life back!
Thank you to Dr. DaSilva and Rebound Staff
Results better than my wildest dreams
You are the best. I had total knee replacement 6 months ago and the only regret is that I did not do it sooner. The docs, staff, hospital and rehab folks all worked incredibly well together to make the recovery amazingly short and the results better than my wildest dreams. What is this 60 year old ready for now? Looking at snow boarding equipment!
Thank you Dr. Musleh and team
Thank you Dr. Southerland and Joel Phillips, PA-C!
Thanks to Steve and Joel for their special gifts!
A big thank you to Dr. Southerland
Successful Surgery and Physical Therapy Outcome
Many thanks to Dr. Musleh and staff
Today I am able to walk and stand with no limits, I am back to doing things that I have been unable to accomplish in several years.
I recently returned from a trip to Sofia Bulgaria, where I was able to walk around that city on rough skinny stone side walks with no pain or worry.
Many thanks again to Dr. Musleh and his staff for all they have done for me.
I will turn 76 in May and feel like I'm 46 again.
Thank you Dr. Sparling for making my quality of life better
Thank you, Dr. Wei
My experience in Vietnam left me with a souvenir from a sniper to my right shoulder which became arthritic with the years and painful. Now, almost three months after total replacement and the wonderful work of the Rebound Physiotherapy team, I am pain free and have regained over 90% of my mobility!
Thank you, Dr. Wei and the highly professional staff at Rebound Orthopedics!!
Dr. Candido D.
Thank you Dr. Roberts and staff!
My primary goal for both joint replacements was to get back on my bike. I reached my goals. I ride one week long and a few weekend rides during the dry season.I want to value the fine folks who assisted Dr. Roberts, like Lori, whom I always looked forward to see, and Kyle, who also provided care and directly assisted Dr. Roberts. Then there were the pre-op folks that got me ready and nursing and OT staff who took care of me while I was on the ward. And, lastly, there is that most important person who provided care before, during and after the cutting and replacements, that would be Sharon. She helped me get back to my bike. Thanks Sharon! It does take a village, doesn't it?
Thank you Dr. Borus!
In June 2010, it was decision time. I had been waiting for 10 years for a new knee. My visit was for my final cortizone shot. Surgery could have been scheduled before the month was out, but I told my Dr. that I needed to go home and "chew on the idea for awhile." The thought of six to nine months of recoup time, and all that plastic in me for a new knee - just didn't seem like the best thing I had been waiting so long for.
Much to my surprise, the very next night after receiving that last shot, there was a segment on King 5 News, about Dr.Borus and knee replacement surgery. The surgery showed great promise of getting me back on my feet quickly, with about six weeks of physical therapy.
I researched the Makoplasty procedure and Dr.Borus. I called my insurance at least four times to be sure it was covered - and it was. The trip to Vancouver, WA takes about 3 1/2 hours from the little town I live in just north of Bremerton, WA. At my consultation, Dr. Borus assured me that I was going to go from "as bad as it gets- to as good as it gets." That is exactly what happened.
Ten days after my surgery, at my follow-up visit, I was off my pain meds and NO walker and NO cane. After the first year visit, I had done so well that I didn't need to come back for two years. By then it was September 2013, and I had just lost my husband in July 2013. That meant, I needed to wait until summer of 2014, after school let out, to have my daughter accompany me for the surgery and visits.
In August 2014, I had my left knee replaced with Dr.Borus. This time, I was off the pain meds, NO walker or cane in 8 days. Everyone is different, but I can assure you that the healing time of this procedure is nothing short of a miracle.
Dr. Borus and his team, as well as, the exceptional care you receive at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital, is the best you can hope for, anywhere. I now have a matching pair of new knees. The entire experience has been well worth going the extra miles, not once-but twice. Hands down, it has been among the best decisions I have ever made, and that truly is "as good as it gets."
Thank you Dr. Roberts!
We just want to thank you again for the incredible care you gave CJ and let you know the knee held up! CJ's team won the 6A state basketball championship this year. We are so grateful that he was able to contribute and be part of his team again. It is an experience he will remember for the rest of his life.
Thank you Dr. Nemecek
Thank you very much for the referral. I have had the temporary spinal stimulis and am now going for the final phase of it. You and my other doctors have totally turned my life around.
Thank you again.
Thanks for my knee!
These Doctors of Rebound literally gave me my life back
MAKOplasty Patient Testimonial
This testimonial is taken from an email sent to Dr. Todd Borus eight months after the patient's MAKOplasty partial knee resurfacing procedure.
Hi Dr. Borus,These pictures show the raison d'etre for my wonderful new knees.
I just got back on Sunday from backpacking for 6 days and 62 miles on the w. side of the Wonderland Trail on Mt. Rainier, with over 16,000′ of climbing (and more importantly, descending!). My knees worked GREAT! It was exactly where I wanted to be, high in the alpine meadows with massive, majestic Mt. Rainier alongside all the way.The morning after I returned I got up at 5 am and swam 1.1 miles across the Columbia River in the Labor Day Cross the Columbia swim in Hood River.
Oh yes, and I just bought a stand up paddleboard after having started that this summer. I got a racing board just in case I decide to compete…
Thank you for EVERYTHING!
MAKOplasty Success Story
"I had my first MAKOplasty surgery in May of 2009 and the second in Nov, of 2011. Before the surgery I was only able to function with Celebrex and I couldn't take it anymore. I then tried very expensive braces, but found them awkward and uncomfortable. I found that I was not going on the hikes I used to go on, someone had to help me out of my kayak and carry my boat, and I was always aware of my knee and the pain I was experiencing even when I wasn't doing anything active. Finally, I scheduled my first total knee surgery and was so delighted to find out about Makoplasty just by sheer accident. Now I can do anything.Dr. Borus is one of the best surgeons and human beings I have encountered. He is encouraging, patient, and willing to answer all your questions. I am immensely grateful. "
Thank you, Dr. Musgrave
I severed the flexor tendon on my left thumb while I was whitewater kayaking in northern Minnesota in late May, 2014. It was the last rapid, on the last day of an otherwise dream-worthy trip. I was really worried my paddling would be limited due to the fact I couldn't grip my paddle. However, Dr. Musgrave reassured me that I'd still be able to grip a paddle after surgery, and that I'd likely be able to start paddling about 3 months post-op. August 18th was circled on my calender as the date I could return to paddling. Well, after a smooth surgery and some PT, I was cleared to paddle class II-III by mid-July.By the time my target date of August 18th rolled around I was already back to paddling class V by August 18th!!!!!
I just got back from a paddling trip in Nepal, and it's all thanks to Dr. Musgrave making my thumb work properly. If my thumb didn't work there was no way I would have been able to paddle in Nepal. THANK YOU!!!
New Knees – One Couple’s Story
Carol and Dennis, patients of Donald Roberts, M.D., split their time between Portland, OR and Sun Valley, ID. After watching Dennis recover from bilateral knee replacements, Carol decided to undergo the same procedure the following year. These enthusiastic patients share their stories as encouragement to others considering knee replacement surgery.
I have suffered from osteoarthritis in my knees for several years. I stopped running in my twenties, and in recent years cut back on hiking and biking. I stopped skiing in 2009. My knees just couldn't take the pain any more.Four years ago I met Rebound's Dr. Don Roberts, who replaced both of my husband Dennis's knees in 2008. We knew the minute we met Dr. Roberts that we had found the best surgeon for the job. Once Dennis' recovery was complete, and I saw my husband able to pursue his passion, skiing, I knew there was hope for me.Following in Dennis' footsteps, I, too, had both knees replaced. I just celebrated my one-year anniversary since my bi-lateral total joint replacement surgery. I can't believe the strength I've gained with my new knees- I'm even dancing again -in Zumba class! Of course I modify the bouncing a little, but I truly feel like I've gotten a second shot at living my life fully, actively and happily. Thanks to Dr. Roberts and his amazing Rebound team, I look forward to standing on top of the mountain and skiing down with my husband. Our new knees are four reasons to believe there's hope for anyone whose knees have aged sooner than their spirits.
I wouldn't recommend this any more than Dr. Roberts would. But, I had bi-lateral total knee replacement surgery in 2008. Last year I skied more than one hundred days! I also mountain biked for another thirty or forty days.
My wife, Carol, participated throughout the planning and preparation as well as the recovery from surgery, which was crucial. We both developed enormous respect for Dr. Roberts as a person and as a surgeon. His integrity and wisdom were evidenced throughout the process and was reflected by the attitudes and standards of his staff.
Miracles happened twice with Dr. Roberts in our lives. One year ago my wife had bilateral total knee replacement surgery. And with her drive and the inspiration of Dr. Roberts and his staff, she is raring to go too. She will be back skiing with me this year.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Roberts for total knee replacement. I encourage anyone wanting to reclaim their life to make a commitment to themselves to come back strong to do the things they love.

Back to Biking
If quality, personalized service and compassion set the bar for orthopedic care then Dr. Greg Gramstad and Rebound set the ceiling with their relentless pursuit of patient care, state of the art facilities and solution based team approach. After three years in the darkness because of an injury, the team at rebound has me pain free and in the clear. Getting healthy is a long road filled many steps, starting your journey with Rebound will truly move you forward.I battled with an injury for a long time and sacrificed the activities I loved. After seeing Dr. Gramstad, I am on my way to a great recovery and pursuing the activities I love to do. Remembering the sports I loved to do is different then doing those activities. I have my freedom back, thanks to Rebound.
Thank you, Dr. Kafrouni
Rebound and Dr. Borus have made a huge positive difference in my life

Two hip surgeries with Dr. Sparling
Drs. Wei and Roberts are amazing doctors
Without a doubt the best results I could have ever hoped for. Both Drs. Wei and Roberts are amazing doctors. I am 100% pain free and living a very normal active life thanks to those two. And the nurses at Salmon Creek are THE BEST too! Thank you thank you thank you!
Dr. Roberts changed my life!
Professional, Personable and Thorough
From the start, I felt like I received top rate service: professional, personable and thorough. I was particularly impressed with the PT on-site. Doug coached me back to recovery with patience and encouragement, reminding me it would take time. It did but I'm happy to say I'm back playing with no symptoms. I recommend you guys whenever I can.
Thank you, Dr. Jacobs
Thanks to Dr. Jacobs and his fine skills, sewed my nerves back together! (didn't know you could do that!?) It took several months for growth and feeling to begin coming back, but I now have feeling back in my thumb, I have pressure sensitivity and the most important...I can FUNCTION! It's not perfect, but at least I can button my pants, pick up a cup, tell if it is being burned by something HOT, etc. Not to mention, I'm a pianist, biker, teacher, dirt bike rider...all of which are pretty tough to do without the use of a thumb. (dumb) 🙂 I think over time it will still continue to improve.
I'm so grateful to have the use of all FIVE of my digits back! 🙂 THANKS!
Thank you Dr. Ellis and staff!
Thank you, Dr. Shanno!
Congratulations Dr. Ellis!
Apryl and Robert G.
Deeply Grateful to Dr. Le
Thank you Dr. Roberts!
In two short months, I was hiking Hamilton and Dog Moutain in the Columbia Gorge. Last month my wife and I summited South Sister. On September 15th, we completed Mt. Hood's Timberline Trail in a four day backpack circuit. We climbed from 5600 feet elevation, gaining the west Elliott moraine at 7300 feet, descending to a 2 mile traverse of Elliott Glacier, and then rejoing the Timberline Trail. Our 4 day adventure took us over 45 miles of terrain with a total elevation gain and loss of 20,000 vertical feet. We have plans for climbing Mt. Hood this winter and will be cross country skiing all around the Cascade Range as well.
Thank you again for you and your team's fine job.
Dr. Edward Sparling is one of my heroes!
I have had a great doctors overseeing my care but Dr. Edward Sparling is one of my heroes! In addition to Dr. Sparling, it takes a team and I fully realize this; Over 200 doctors, nurses, physical therapists, office staff, schedulers, social workers, administrators, caregivers, billing, etc. it takes to make sure I benefit from a foreign hardware being placed in my body to help get me back on my feet, I thank them all from the bottom of my heart. I thank everyone on the 8th floor for the hospitality and care!
I have had so many well-known clinics, hospitals and doctors in my life and I founded an arthritis program at a California base healthcare system but Rebound and PeaceHealth are the utmost healthcare systems that have helped me get back on my feet and for this I will always appreciate the services, care and specialized attention to detail for safety and infection prevention.
Although I'm not looking forward to the next surgeries (my knees), knowing Rebound will be the leader of my healthcare team puts me at ease. Thank you everyone that cared for me in 2008 and 2015 from Rebound!
Excellent MRI Experience
Dr. Ellis is Personable and Efficient
Excellent Doctors and Excellent Therapists
Dr. Crary continued to see me during my stay, and then long after for subsequent corrective surgeries, and then throughout months and months of physical therapy. No one was really sure how this situation would pan out; I think the hope was that the damage could be corrected with the closest resemblance possible to my foot before the accident.
With each surgery, my ankle and foot decided it wanted to be back to normal. By the final surgery, it was a new ankle, but one which functioned with more and more ease. With each visit to Dr. Crary, and each visit to Lisa Seitz (my physical therapist,) I re-learned how to walk properly to the point where those who know me continue to point out that the limp has all but disappeared. I couldn't have gotten better care if I had asked. The Lord was with me that day, and blessed me with excellent doctors and excellent therapists, and a seeminly impossible chance to heal.
Dr. Modha Saved My Life
I Couldn’t Ask for a Better Team to Help Manage My Mobility Issues
I recently had to go in to see Dr. Ellis for knee issues and again Dr. Crary for some additional foot issues -here it is four years later an both Drs. seem to know more than most I have experienced. Both Drs. I believe have either played basketball or another sport so I feel like they can relate and empathize with my issues. In addition, the physical therapy unit is right there at the offices, which tells me there is added synergy among the staff to ensure the best care for patients - I was impressed! I feel like I am in the best of hands with the best equipment for analysis and the best doctors - I couldn't ask for a better team to help manage my mobility issues (and with honest answers)- I am thankful to have them as a resource and would highly recommend to anyone.
The New Knees Have Given Me a New Lease on Life
I knew that physical therapy was EXTREMELY important for me to regain movement and flexibility in my knee. I requested Mike Baer who I had met back in 2003 with the removal of the calcium deposits. I told him to PUSH me so I would get the most from my new knees. He did.
My wife and I have joined a coached exercise program to help keep us in good health. We are both seeing good results. So I now tell people that I have a pair a 20 year old's knees in a 73 year old body.
My last thought is if you have real pain in your knees and have been told that you will need a joint replacement in your near fixture don't put it off. Do it you will be amazed at the results. I have absolutely no pain anymore- I can pretty much do whatever I want to. I like the outdoors and I fish, hunt, and go on hikes. The new knees have given me a new lease on life. The knees along with the extreme weight loss are the reason.
Excellent Care From Dr. Musleh
