Running Clinic – Levels 1 and 2 – This Summer!

Our spring clinic was so popular that we’ve decided to have two running clinics this summer for Levels 1 and 2!

Level 1
Level 1 is ideal for anyone wanting to reduce the likelihood of injury by improving strength and stability. Patients who have recently gone through rehab and beginning runners alike are perfect candidates for this clinic.  Level 1 is also great for experienced runners who seem to be constantly injured and would benefit from mindfully practicing the skills associated with good running.

Level 2 
Level 2 class will build on the Level 1 techniques and will help runners improve speed and performance by concentrating on increasing strength and power. The exercises in the level 2 class are more intense and more dynamic.  For those with prior running experience and/or have good balance and control, you are welcome to take the Level 2 class without taking one first.

These classes, through exercises, drills, and soft-tissue maintenance techniques will get you ready to run your best. During these 10-week clinics,  you will condition your muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones to optimally deal with the demands of running.

In both classes you can expect to:

  • Increase the muscular strength of your feet, ankles, legs and hips
  • Increase the integrity of tendons, ligaments, and bones in the foot and leg
  • Increase your balance and stability
  • Learn biomechanically correct running technique
  • Decrease your likelihood of injury

Unlike other running clinics, this one is shoe free.  While we are not transforming you into a barefoot runner, and encourage you to wear proper running shoes, training barefoot optimizes the strength and stability of the foot. A strong and stable base of support, coupled with the new skills you will learn in this clinic should help to reduce the likelihood of injury and improve performance.

Level 1: Thursdays at 5:15, starting July 10th
Level 2: Mondays at 5:45, starting July 7th
