Dr. Brian Ragel of Rebound had the opportunity to speak with students in the nursing program at Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Ragel is an alumni of Benson High School himself, where he graduated in 1987. He spoke about his reason for and experience in becoming a doctor. Dr. Ragel explained the path to medical school, the grades you need and the scores for the MCAT needed to get in. “Medical schools are looking for mature students with life experience.”
He emphasized the importance of life experiences to the students, and their ability to communicate and listen. “Don’t give up, work hard, and you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Medical school is an investment you want to make.”
