Rebound Donates to Share Vancouver Holiday Cheer Program

The holiday season is in full swing, and our team at Rebound has been making its mission to spread joy and the spirit of giving. This month, Rebound employees dedicated their community efforts to Share, a wonderful nonprofit organization which serves those in the Vancouver area who are struggling with hunger and homelessness. Rebound is a strong supporter of the important work Share does for the community, such as providing food, shelter, housing, education, advocacy and compassion, and has partnered in charitable activities with the organization in years prior.

As an initiative led by the community outreach committee, Rebound participated in Share’s “Adopt-a-Family” program and adopted four adults connected with the organization. Employees were invited to help make the holidays a joyful time for these individuals by donating gifts. Donations included everything from clothing and books to towels, sheets and groceries.

“We started collecting donations the week of Thanksgiving. Share is a very well run and reputable organization here in Clark County. They help the homeless through hygiene supplies, clothing and food (two soup kitchens), and they also put together end of week food bags for school children who may not have a meal at home on the weekends. They also supply the local high schools with donation closets of personal hygiene products,” says Kathy Black, community relations specialist.

As an additional gift to Share overall, employees participated in a sock, hat and glove drive during their annual holiday party.

“We are so fortunate to work with such generous individuals. We were able to collect several boxes full of donations for Share,” says Kathy Black.

In total, employees at the drive were able to donate 166 pairs of socks, 79 pairs of gloves and 22 hats to those in need. During Share’s holiday season last year, 6,580 gifts were given to 550 people through the adopt-a-family program, and 839 people attended their annual Holiday party at which 4,898 gifts were distributed. Our team is honored to have had a part in Share’s 2015 holiday season. Thank you to all who contributed and made a difference for those in need!
