Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Physical medicine and rehabilitation (also called physiatry) focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries or illness that affect how you move. Our goal is to restore your function and quality of life, and we believe a strong understanding of your diagnosis and treatment plan will help you experience an easier recovery.
We use a comprehensive approach that combines a highly personalized rehabilitation plan, clear communication, and interventional procedures. If needed our physiatrists are able to perform procedures under ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance and electrodiagnostic studies (EMG and NCV) to evaluate for injury or disease of muscle, nerve roots, and peripheral nerves. They also offer regenerative/proliferative techniques including the use of platelet rich plasma, tenotomy, or prolotherapy when clinically appropriate to address tendon, ligament, and joint pain.
