When steroid shots quit giving me any relief for my spinal stenosis, I started researching and interviewing orthopedic and neurosurgeons who might be able to give me some pain relief. I couldn't stand for more than 10 seconds without having to move and my sleep was continually interrupted with pain. If I did get in to discuss my MRI with surgeons, the procedures always entailed elaborate fusions and minimal success. Reaching out to friends for suggestions on surgeons, a friend emailed me about Dr. Hoang Le. Within a few weeks, Rebound set up an appoint for me with Dr. Le. After looking over some X-rays he ordered, he concluded that he could perform a decompression contralateral laminoplasty without fusing at the time of this surgery. Dr. Le explained the risks and benefits of such a procedure. Rebound was able to set up a surgery for me with Dr. Le just over a month--a shorter time than when I could even see another surgeon. I felt relief from the surgery Dr. Le performed on me while I was in recovery. I was off pain medicine within 30 hours. I followed the medical instructions given me and continue maintenance PT exercises. I stand indefinitely without any pain. I sleep without being aroused by leg pain. I'm back to skiing, swimming, biking, hiking, gardening, gym classes and playing with my grandsons. The Rebound Team has been amazing. The receptionists, the nurses, Dr. Hull, the pharmacist, Ms. Gale, and anyone else at Rebound that I came into contact with were considerate as well as completely professional. Here's an added plus that solidifies Dr. Le being a rock star: He recorded his medical notes concerning his diagnosis and final exam right in front of me. Rebound has made it easy to access my medical records, including Dr. Le's surgical procedures. Next week is my surgery's one year anniversary at the Vancouver Rebound Center.
