My Comeback Story: Mary G.
February (left knee) and September (right knee) 2025 were replaced. I had been living with chronic knee pain for over 10 years. Living on arthritis medication, pain creams, etc. I even ended up having to get a handicap parking permit. That was a real low point. I saw a few doctors over the years I could tell that I was looked at as the fat lady with the bad knees and was basically dismissed. A friend told me about Dr. Southerland. I made an appointment and Dr. Southerland treated me with care and thoughtfulness, but was honest with me about the need to lose some weight just to be healthy enough to have surgery. I worked on getting the weight off so that my BMI was at a point that I could have surgery. Surgeries were scheduled and the ol' knees were replaced and then the work began with rehab. Everyone that I dealt with at Rebound was wonderful—office staff, surgical scheduling, rehab, etc., you name it. Dr. Southerland was there every step of the way. Thank goodness my friend recommended him. Life is pretty darn good these days. It hits me at times how small my world had gotten, and how amazing it is to not hurt anymore. I'm back driving my Mustang Convertible during the summers. It has a manual transmission and I just couldn't clutch it any longer without constant pain, but that is no longer the case. The work continues to get the knees stronger they were pretty weak after years of babying them and being sedentary. So thank you Dr. Southerland for giving me my life back!
