My Comeback Story: William S.

William S.
Pain to Promise

At 67, I was stupidly solo wrestling a washer and dryer into our old minivan to drop off at our kid's 1st rental as a couple. As I twisted the dryer past the washer, in a tight space, I felt something go. 4 months later I was in PT through the summer but nothing was relieving the shooting pain. I found it hard to work, sleep, enjoy life. I had resigned myself to another half a year of chronic debilitating pain, when I got a surgery slot in Dr. Nemecek's schedule just before Christmas. Andrew is quite the character. A prodigy at what he does and has a zest for life that informs confidence in his patients. The staff, process and recovery was exceptional. I decided I had better enable healing by habitually doing my PT exercises, eating and sleeping well. Within 3 weeks I was incrementally doing things I had not been able to consider before. Today, nearly 2 years later I am back to normal, flitting around the world training young people in the art of filmmaking, often stronger than I was before. I am now more cognizant of my limits and hire a teenager to do the stupid stuff.
