Andrea Herzka, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon dually board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine who specializes in the treatment of hip, knee, and shoulder injuries in patients looking to restore their active lifestyles.

Dr. Herzka did her residency at John Hopkins University and her sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she participated in caring for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Robert Morris University men’s ice hockey teams.

Dr. Herzka joins Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery after spending the first 21 years of her career as orthopedic faculty at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Sharing her passion for surgery, sideline medicine, and patient care, Dr. Herzka has mentored countless medical scribes, medical assistants, medical assistants, medical students, PA students, residents, fellows, and orthopedic colleagues and has been privileged to be a part of their journeys. She created a sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery stimulation training program at OHSU that is nationally recognized. She continues her role at OHSU as a volunteer professor educating future generations and serves as team physician for Lewis & Clark College.

Trained by Marc Philippon and Freddie Fu, Dr. Herzka strives to emulate their examples of the highest level of care for the athlete: thinking about this season as well as long-term joint preservation and the ability to exercise throughout life in a meaningful way. Having performed over 4,000 hip arthroscopy procedures, she has trained numerous surgeons in these techniques despite considering herself an eternal student in this emerging field. She has published her findings and participates in a national outcome databank, hoping to advance the field of hip arthroscopy.

Dr. Herzka values creating an individualized treatment plan based on the patient’s needs and goals. She is a fan of shared decision-making and, most importantly, wants every patient to feel heard.
